Ascending Spider Glacier
Looking down towards Spider Meadows
Lyman Lakes Basin
Easily one of the most glorious sights in the Cascades
The Lyman Glacier drops straight into the Upper Lyman Lake. Bergs of ice float in the lake and are pushed around by the winds.
Upper Lyman Lake
Bonanza Peak, the highest non-volcanic peak in the state.
High Alpine Parkland
Between Suiattle Pass and Image Lake, the trail traverses thousands of acres of wide open parkland.
Sunset on Image Lake and Glacier Peak
Image lake at dusk, with Glacier capturing a little alpenglow near the summit.
Sunrise on Glacier Peak
This uncommon alpine flower caught my eye due to the lovely orange and red hues
Just about every foot of this trip was filled with spectacular alpine scenery
Buck Mountain and Chiwawa Ridge
Glacier Peak at Sunset
Had the premium campsite at Buck Creek Pass. I had to walk all of ten feet from my tent to capture this image. The snapped-off trees in the foreground are evidence of huge avalanches that sweep this pass during winter.
High Pass Trail
This dead-end trail goes from Buck Creek Pass to High Pass, and terminates. It is a spectacular high route with huge views and a lot of exposure. At one time this was slated to be part of the PCT; I don't know why it didn't get pushed beyond High Pass.
